The Tim Horton’s and D.A.R.E partnership raised over $22,000 during the smile cookie campaign this year.

The money will be used in D.A.R.E programs all across Northeastern Ontario and will pay for things like training officers and educational resources. Paul Harrison, D.A.R.E board coordinator for the OPP says this will help schools all the way from Parry Sound to Moosonee;

The D.A.R.E program is a collaboration between the Timmins Police and the Northeast Region Ontario Provincial Police to educate students on drugs and they will share the funds.

The official total raised was $22,120 with $16,800 from Timmins, $3,080 raised in Cochrane and $2,240 raised in Iroquois Falls.

The $1 smile cookies were sold from September 14-19, 2015.
