QG_logoThe Quesnel Group Talc Mineral mine will be in commercial production by next June.

They will begin processing their ore in a plant which already exists as they build three other processing plants, two in the Whitney Township and another at an undisclosed location. These plants will contribute 1000 jobs and they hope to hire completely from within Timmins and area.

CEO William Quesnel says they also have just signed an agreement with Hunter Douglas Metal worth $4.9 billion over 15 years. The contract is renewable as the mine could be in production for 100 years.

Quesnel says they will be contributing to Timmins, “a couple hundred million dollars to the economy in taxes and social reinvestment.”

Within the next 18 months, they will be hiring 200-250 employees to begin working.
