Almost 700 exhibits have come through the Timmins Museum in the last 40 years.

The museum is celebrating its 40th anniversary  — Curator Karen Bachman says even through the artifacts didn’t have a home for four years she knew the city would come through.

‘The solution we came up with is really in our favour.  Our attendance has doubled from visitors through out the year.”

“We’ve seen the likes of Rembrandt, Picasso, and spectacular gold displays in the last 40 years and some great local displays to help teach residents about their home.”

Although the museums has been on the city’s books since 1952, it’s been officially open since 1975.
