Suspicious death investigation in Kirkland Lake

On August 7, 2015 at approximately 11:41 a.m., members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a sudden death at a residence on Harding Avenue in Kirkland Lake. 

Jessica COX, age 24 from Kirkland Lake, was found deceased at the scene.

The death is being treated as suspicious, however OPP is not searching for any suspects and there is no threat to public safety.

The Kirkland Lake OPP detachment and Crime Unit members, under the direction of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) Detective Staff Sergeant Matt Watson, are continuing the investigation.  The OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS) – Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS) have both been assisting with the investigation.
